Breaking Dragon Bones, Snipping Dragon Scales

Posted on Jan 30, 2012 in Home Stretch, Rhythm of Production

With any project, the frantic final days always take me off guard. By the time I finished making the structure and papered the skeleton with a golden orange, I wasn’t sure I could pull it off. I was tired. I was on the verge of  smashing everything- I do mean sloshing everything with lighter fluid and setting it ablaze. I had dragon fever!

Luckily, a band of support came to my rescue. My sister fueled me with a much needed chocolate chunk cookie and papered all the teeth. The day before installation, my bf and friend/roomie reconfigured the string of holiday lights to work before they pasted on the scale details to the dragon’s body. It was miraculous that things came together like they did.
